I am thinking about lowering the rear end of my 2006 883XL. I believe the factory shocks are 13 inch. I have no problem reaching the ground so this would be for cosmetic reasons only. I would like to drop it down an inch or two to give it a more aggressive stance. Does anyone have any infromation on doing this, or know of any negative issuses that can be caused by lowering just the rear of the bike?
Thanks in advance

I have a 2007 883XL, and I just lowered the back of mine. The shocks are pretty easy to change, and I love the stance of mine. Go for it!!!

I put 11 inchers on my '97 Sport. Make sure there are no clearance issues before purchase. Make sure all wiring and bolts clear tire. Go for it! I sit lower than 1200L and most BTs.

You may want to keep an eye on this forum. It's about 10 inchers.

I put on 11" rear shocks and a 2" front lowering kit. Scraped the kick stand twice in 2 yrs. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v498/seanile/100_0097.jpg
