Yeah, I got a kick out of the cross drilled brake lines and the polishing pads with the wear indicator. Too funny!

We used to send the new guys down to the HT (hull-tech) shop for an HT punch. They'd all come back with a bruise on their arm!!:smoke

We had newbies get 5 gallons of prop wash; 50-ft. of chow line was a bit more difficult!

Reminds me of sending the new seaman to fetch 6 ft of shoreline from the chief....or the keys to the seachest. I once broke open a bunch of chem lites and dumped the green glowing gook into a jar. I then put on a chem suit and carried it with a pair of tongs. Had a guy don a suit and very carefuly carry it down to the boat so the engineers could fill the radar! Same guy was later wrapped in tin foil....handed two broom sticks wrapped in foil and set adrift in the cove on a paint float...for 30 minutes we had him raise and lower the broom sticks as well as change positions as we calibrated the radar.
By the way.......great page but Im surprised I couldnt find that optical optimator I ve been looking for....and I still need a can of compression.
