Had XL50 (Black) about 6 weeks and put all of 20 miles on it. (5 yard miles) Live in the country West Central Louisiana.
Trying to fine out about the Screaming Eagle Mufflers. Dealer told me yesterday there are two types: Street Legal and Off Road 75% of the time the Street Legal run fine with no decel pop but a remap should be done if there is a question. The Off Road must have the Race Tuner because the ECM parameters are not wide enough to accept the Off Road and AC (Stage 1).
I bought the SE Muffs when I bought the bike but they are still in the box. I plan on keeping the bike forever and just don't want to hurt the engine in any way.I guess I'll wait for more info and outcomes of the forum.
Enjoyed the past few weeks of reviews on the forum and found myself drinking coffee in my office reading it before starting the day.

lemme see ... new bike, new mufflers ... S/E's .. 20 miles ...hummm. Subtract the 20 from the new, add S/E's to the bike .. Yep .. just as I thought .. open them boxes and go for it.

But run it around the block once more to make sure you got it broke in real good.

Are you a new rider? I left my pipes off for a few months, just to get acquainted with the bike before I had it growling and snarling loud.

I guess it don't matter either way, HD was gonna do my stage1 at the stealer; with 4 miles on it... so I don't think your gonna hurt the engine.

Shit, 20 miles, just go for a 150 ride today and then change. :D

Welcome from NY. Have fun & ride safe.

BTW, you didn't buy those pipes to admire in a box, did you? Go 4 it on the first cold, rainy day that comes along.

Bob G

Welcome to the Forum! These ladies and gents are pretty cool!

I was wondering when I read the title though, why you would want to buy a baby boomer :smoke

Enjoy your ride and for goodness sake, let them mufflers out of the box before they suffocate!
