Last week I clicked on chat, went in, see who was hanging out.

I tried to go on chat this weekend, and it's not working.

This is what comes up on the address bar:

http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/chat/flashchat.php

The screen remains blank. The upper left hand corner has a little multi-colored square, red, yellow, blue.

Works for me. Your browser may be blocking it some how. Do you have FLASH installed?

Chat is there and works fine, although I've yet to see anyone in there. No chatters here, I guess.

O.k. do I feel silly:o

Figured out the problem.

I have two separate laptops here in the tv room. If someone is using one, there is another available.

I can get in the chatroom with one laptop, but not the other. Some sort of flash issue.

Sorry..:shhhh

I think the problem is the computer that won't let me into chat is related to flashplayer.
I've installed it. But, during the installation, it says to expect to see a little animation, that way you know the install was good.

I never see the little animation.

Also, and I think this is related, I can't view YouTube videos on this computer, either.
No chat, no YouTube. That's why I think flashplayer is the issue.

Anybody got any ideas why flash isn't installing right?

Or, any thoughts if the problem is something else?

Are you using FireFox or IE?

I had been trying to download flashplayer. It wanted to install Yahoo toolbar also. There was a box to "deselect" the toolbar, and I had always deselected it.
Well, today, I accepted the Yahoo tool bar, and the flash player installed just fine.
Then, I went into control panel and uninstalled the toolbar.
I hate being forced to download something I don't want.
