I picked up HD part 60215-06 (layback licence plate and turn signal bar) for my '07 1200L, and had everything going fine, right up till the end.
If I had it to do over again, I'd totally ignore the instruction to snip the wire behind those original connectors. I'd have cut the wire somewhere in the middle, done all the routing of things, and then just soldered or joined the cut versus having to replace these connectors.
You're given four crimp connectors for the t/s wires. Needless to say, I don't have the right tool, and screwed 'em up so they're unusable.
Does anyone have a clue where to buy these AMP connectors, and what tool should be used (or can be substituted) to crimp them onto the wires? The "right" tool (service manual calls it HD-41609, AMP multi-lock crimper) is extremely difficult to find anywhere on the net, and what looks to be close is well over $100.
Any help appreciated.
The job's 99% done, but that last 1% is proving to be tough.
