Hey all. I'm thinking about getting the detachable mini sissy bar with a luggage rack for my 2-up seated sporty. Anyone out there have pictures of their sporty with a luggage rack? Perferably with a 2-up seat so I can get a better idea on what it will look like.
I'm thinking about the detachable version because I prefer the look of the bike without a sissy bar. I'm looking at this combo for traveling purposes only. But if it doesn't look bad then maybe I'll consider the rigid mount instead.
Thanks in advance.
JOE

I have rigid sideplates/sissy bar...I like the sissy bar look personally but I have my bike set up more as a tourer anyway. I'll take a pic of it with the luggage rack when I get the new one on there this weekend! :)

You can see pics of mine at my site in the link below. It also lists the specific parts I'm using. I have detachable sideplates and medium-low uprights.

This picture shows the luggage rack fairly well. I had to cut the corners off of my license plate to make it fit under the rack though...... :shhhh

What state is that? it looks like your state still has the large style plate. Here is Pa we got our smaller better looking plates like 3 years ago. can believe the diffrence in looks with out the half sheet of metal 5X8 hanging off the back compared to the 4X6 plates!

Wisconsin. I got one of the last "large style" plates before they switched to the smaller ones about a year later. The smaller ones look so much nicer, it makes me want to re-register the bike so i can ditch the big cut up one.

G'day Joe,
Here's my scoot.... sissy and all just fitted, except the wiring for the aux sissy light. I've got a thread asking for help on how to loosen the fender support chrome cover so I can run the wire behind it. I am convinced though that a detachable sissy would not work with the aux light. The wiring unplugs under the front seat, which means you'd have the issue of running the wire behind the chrome cover all the time. Only other way would be to run the wire straight under your seat.

6. 53852-00 2-UP Sport Rack approx $125 Las Vegas Harley
Also be aware if you go with the same rack as me, that the instructions specify that you need a spacer kit. Part # 53828-00. I found this to be rubbish. Simply wasted $20. There was no way the spacers would fit.
Max load on the rack is 10 lbs.
Hope this helps. Good luck with it... Dave.
