Well I finally got my Big City Thunder Monsters installed last night. All I can say is WOW!!! I had V&H straighshots on my '04 1200c and thought I'd play around and put the Thunder Monster baffles in to see if I liked them. I can tell you one thing, the V&H baffles are staying on the shelf!!

The sound is awesome, now all I have to do is put it on a Dyno and test it out. Hopefully later this month when it warms up a little.

Can you be a little more descriptive about the sound. Awesome says you're happy, but awesome to you may not mean awsome to me ;) . Are they louder than the V&H baffles? Softer, lower pitch...higher?

They've got a deeper throatier sound than the V&H baffles do. The most noticeable sound you get is when your shifting gears, and you get that "hot rod" sound that you used to hear out of an old souped up car, at least something like that is the best way to describe it.

The baffles are a little pricey at $78 a set, but their definetly worth it.

Cool. What about volume? Louder? Softer?

Definetly louder.....but in a good way. Not just a loud obnoxious sound.

Quirk -

Easiest thing to do is take your V&H baffles out and ride a bit. The BCT sound is a bit quieter, but not a real lot. With the BCTs, you'll keep the real deep sound but you'll loose most of the suck-back sound when you close the throttle. BUT, your low end will come back (from open pipes) and you'll start smiling ear to ear.

So you're saying the BCT is quieter and deeper than open pipes, but how do they compare to the V&H with stock baffles?

Never had baffles so I wouldn't know. That's why I told you to check it out with opens. If that's way too loud for you, then no to the BCT. If it's a little too loud, then you're in.

Their a lot louder than the stock V&H baffles.

Alrighty, thanks. I'd like a lower tone, but I'm already attracting unwanted attention where I live so I'll have to leave the baffles in.

They do not make thet tinniy sound open pipes do. And when you crack the throttle in 2nd or 3rd youll be soooo glad you bought them. The power is there no flat spots. Deeper growl comes from the BCTM! no potato potato, no loud open pipe sound with that underlying ting sound you know what i mean. Trust us buy them you'll be happy.
