What is the current consensus on upgrading the clutch plates or clutch spring on a basic 883-1200 conversion. Some had had no problems while others have. I jsut want to get some first hand feedback.

A good idea is to buy 2 steel plates and 1 fibre and remove the dampner plate and put the new plates in..

That increases your clutch size by about 10%


The stock clutch with this mod is fine for WELL over 100HP

I'm running a barnett extra plate clutch and does great. I've heard of racers using the stock clutch in their drag bikes and never had a problem. I would say to leave it as is or do the extra clutch setup. Either way, your clutch should be fine.

That was my thought....I was wondering why you'd mess with the clutch....I don't see a reason...

Then again, my posts should ALWAYS be followed by "unless you're racing"......lol
