What is the current consensus on upgrading the clutch plates or clutch spring on a basic 883-1200 conversion. Some had had no problems while others have. I jsut want to get some first hand feedback.

A good idea is to buy 2 steel plates and 1 fibre and remove the dampner plate and put the new plates in.. That increases your clutch size by about 10% The stock clutch with this mod is fine for WELL over 100HP HD1200R 17th March 2005, 02:22 I'm running a barnett extra plate clutch and does great. I've heard of racers using the stock clutch in their drag bikes and never had a problem. I would say to leave it as is or do the extra clutch setup. Either way, your clutch should be fine. cantolina 17th March 2005, 03:03 That was my thought....I was wondering why you'd mess with the clutch....I don't see a reason... Then again, my posts should ALWAYS be followed by "unless you're racing"......lol |
