Hi
First post so bear with me . Ive got a 2000 sporty with 20k miles on it and ive owned it just over a year and i love it, Now since i got it ive had a lurching in first gear just as i let the clutch out, sometimes happens other times not.Everything thing else seems fine, gearchange is sweet, trans fluid changed and to the right level, primary adjusted E.t.c . Ive read about a couple of other people on here and the xl list with the same problem but no one seems to have an answer . Can anyone help ?

did ya ever over heat the clutch ? let it slip a bit too much , do a burnie , ride in a parade

these things can overheat the plates and warp them , a slight warp can cause a lurtching

ensure the oil level is not too high as well, just a quick check. I am unsure on the newer ones but I know on the older ones if it is over full that it will be as if there is not even a clutch at all!!!

by the way, NICE BIKE! I really like the yellow, man that is sharp lookin.

Is it like a surge in power? Like it just got a lot more gas but you didn't give it more throttle? Mine does that every once in a while, but only in first gear.

See this thread (http://www.xlforum.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9972&page=5&pp=10) for your answer. Mine does the exact same thing, but I ain't pulling the tranny. I guess when it blows up, it blows up.
