Do the new EFI 883/1200 motors have self adjusting valves, or is there a schedule to manually adjust the valve lash?

They have hydraulic lifters. There is no need to adjust the valves. :)

Don't buy a 1200R. As soon as you do it will start raining non-stop. I've had mine a week and a half and have managed only 45 miles between storms. It seems to run well, but it did not come with floats and a snorkle...........

Wow, same thing happened to me...bought the XL-50 in late September and had five weekends of rain. At least we are having a warm winter...had a great ride today (took a two-hour ride over lunch).

Pretty much a maintenence free ride. Ride a couple of them before you buy, or wait to get the XR1200 which looks like it will be in production, but you may have to travel to get it. :)

one thing is the EFI is a little more expensive to tune than a Carb, you need computers vs jet kits, but hey I still bought a 2007 anyway.:banadanc
