my buddy was over today washing his bike and I happend to reach down and give his belt a push it easily{1 finger} went all the way to the rear peg mount , on my 05 even useing two fingers pushing down pretty darn hard it would only go about 1/2 way to the peg mount being much tighter but when you twist mine it would twist to about 45*.his 07 883r twisted only to maybe a 20*

did they spec a new belt for 07??

The belt is new for 2007, with more carbon fibre. However, the total deflection at 10 lbs should be 5/16" to 5/8" which I believe is the same as the previous specs.

My belt is about that loose. Can you give me the phone number of the dealer? I would like to talk to him.

For the 07s, straight out of the service manual.

883C / L and 1200C /L are 1/4 - 5/16in at 10lbs

883 / R, 1200 R and XL50 are 9/16-5/8in at 10lbs

Thanks for the info I thought his belt felt much stiffer and I'll let him know the spec
