If you have an extra $59,950.00 laying around, you can buy a VR1000 Factory H-D Superbike listed on www.ahrma.org (webmart) this month. Very Cool! :D

Very Cool! :D xl1200r 9th February 2006, 19:09 That's about what they go for. Try looking a little harder - they even made a VERY limited run of street legal versions! Dakin Engineering 9th February 2006, 21:29 Or buy a V-ROD Destroyer AND a Buell XBRR for the same price. (About time they put the Vrod in something useful.) Sam whodon'teither div. greanmeany1 9th February 2006, 21:35 or get a GSX1000R and save about 40,000 he he he NRHS Sales 9th February 2006, 21:37 Dakin, Are you trying to say the V-rod engine is in the Buell XBRR? xl1200r 9th February 2006, 21:40 Dakin, Are you trying to say the V-rod engine is in the Buell XBRR? I was thinking he might have been thinking that too... NRHS Sales 9th February 2006, 21:59 I hope that isn't what he is saying. The XBRR does not have a V-rod engine in any way, shape or form. SoCal-Cruisin 9th February 2006, 22:30 I think he's saying the V-Rod Destroyer (Factory V-Rod Drag Bike) is finally a useful application of the V-Rod platform. Y2K 9th February 2006, 22:48 That's about what they go for. Try looking a little harder - they even made a VERY limited run of street legal versions! I saw one of those at the dealer a few years ago. It was not legal in North America.:frownthre Dakin Engineering 9th February 2006, 23:08 No, No, No. I meant both are about $30k (I hear). And neither are in my future. jssport 23rd May 2006, 01:36 I think all VR1000's were street legal. in Poland !!!!! no bull DLM32 23rd May 2006, 12:09 The bike that was for sale was a factory superbike racer from the aborted H-D VR roadrace project. Not even close to street legal. There were some VR street bikes built, so they could get the VR approved for competition. You could probably ride it on the street, at least in an LA live vehicle pursuit on Fox News. If they caught you, your driver's license would just be a painful memory!:banana Later, jssport 23rd May 2006, 15:25 Because of the AMA rules, all Superbikes had to be street legal based, the bikes the official HD used were imported back from Poland for that purpose. 50 were made and sent to Poland where lax emission rules allowed them to be street legal, the factory then imported them back for the race team. The current AMA superbikes are the same, none are street legal, but they all started that way from the factory. Jason's Sporty 25th May 2006, 04:35 Hell that would sure get the attention of the rice rocket riders!!! how long till Buell finally puts the Revolution into a proper sportbike frame? kmm0000 25th June 2006, 00:33 Unfortunatly, the VR1000 was not very "super" hence H-Ds quick exit from superbike racing. Steve3888 11th July 2006, 09:59 Actually according to some articles I read about the street bikes. It would have made a very good streetbike. Just when you put it on a racetrack with stripped down horsepowered out inline 4s it sucked. |
