I've owned sport bikes, but never a "cruiser" type bike. The sportster seemed to be kind of in the middle so I just purchased a 2006 883 standard. I love it. I live in Minnesota and ride until the snow keeps me off the road regardless of temp. This year has been great!

Welcome from Southern California. I, too like the Sporty for its "in-between" character. It's so versatile. You have a fast, nimble scoot that can also become a comfortable touring rig with a few clip-on/clip-off pieces. What more could a person ever want?!! ........ (besides more clip-on/clip-off pieces!)
