Do you suppose anyone at Harley-Davidson would be willing to provide the complete cam specs on the stock 04-05 XL1200 and the stock Beull XB-12 cam shafts?

The SE catalog does give the specs on the 04-05 XL specific SE cams.

I would like to compare the 3 cam profiles.

04-05 1200 cams are W grind. Andrews website shows the W specs as follows.

.470 lift 234 intake duration, 230 exhaust duration. 08/26 intake timing. 34/14 exhaust timing. Lift at top dead center is .122 for both

Thanks Barry ... :)

FYI: Here is a list of the various cam specs I put together:

I did not include the N9 grind. It is only recommended for stroked
XL engines of at least 80 Cu In, and requires long pushrods in order
to maintain correct hyd. lifter preload (smaller base circle than stock cam)

(specs as per Andrews' web site) ... I still believe the stock 04-05 cam is a
different grind than the 03 and earlier, but I am not 100% sure of that.

Are the cams in the 04-05 1200 the same as in the 883?

I don't know ... sorry

It was my understanding that the Buell XB-12 and the Sportster 1200 motors have the same cams for 2004-05. The 883's do not have the same cams.

Actually, I was told by my dealer's service dept. manager that the 04-05 XL specific 'SE' cam P/N 25197-04 was in fact the Buell XB-12 cam.

Don't know for sure, but that's what I was told.

I have my factory cams still. I can caliper them to give you the lift but not the duration. If you want I'll do it a bit later tonite.
