just wondering if anyone has seen a springer front in on a stock sporty frame? i was thinking of putting one on my 06 1200R and wasn't sure if they even make one that will work. i think that it will look good, but i haven't seen one that the frame hasn't been modified. any thoughts?

This has been covered in a few other threads.
Try a search. Also try www.sportster.org
Yes for newer sporties (1" neck) just about any springer will fit.
No modifcation to the neck are needed but you have to check
a couple of things.
1. You will have to install/make a fork stop. This varies with different
springers and you can buy them. A company like Paughco will drill
the springer for you to install them.
2. You will need a new front brake caliper and mount. A springer
brake mount swivels on the axle and is held stationary by a rod.
Take a look at a HD Softail Springer at your local HD shop to see what
it looks like.
3. If you get a wide springer your wheel should work, but you will need
to get some spacers to make everything line up.
hope this helps

BTW if you like the way your light nimble sporty handles, you're NOT going to like a springer front end
