I just got the pix today. It should be home in a week or so. I can't wait to get it mounted. It's been 5 or 6 weeks so I'm in need of a long ride.

Wow!!!:clap thats nice. That blue looks nice with the white stripe. Post pics after you get it mounted.

BTW- ask your painter if he will stripe between the 2 colors to give it better color seperation.

I like the blue, and i think striping as xllent suggested would be a huge improvement, i still don't like the 4.5 gallon tank though...

I am gonna third the striping suggestion. Go to a local custom paint shop and find out who the local striping guru is and let them hand stripe it. It will be awesome when it is done and you won't regret it. The additional color will really bring out the color. If you are not convinced, go to autozone and buy a 3 dollar striping tape and run a piece up both sides. You will see it then.

I didn't expect everyone to get it, but that's what I was going for.

Nobody got my mint green bike but me also. You are the only one that has to like it. Pins are used to highlight the look. Stick ons are 3 bucks to see if it is a highlight you like or not.

With the Cobra inspiration, I'm thinking a set of CS turn-outs would be a nice way to capture the side pipes look. The colors are perfect! Can't wait for pix!

I internally wired some z shaped drag bars and of course pipes & a/c are installed. The rest of the current master plan is a LePera metal flake seat, wide white-walls, and a low, round-bar sissy bar to finish off the look. I hope to have it complete by mid February. More to come...

Neat idea! The snake in my garage has a similar paint scheme. http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b100/barrowsr/Cobra/ The XR replica I would like some day will also have a lot of orange in it.

Regards,

Robin

Wow! that is beautiful. That is of course, the inspiration behind the design.

Stew, that is the exact same paint scheme and close to the same colors I've got planned for later this winter. I think it looks awesome, even if I am a bit biased. :banadanc

What colors did you use, and who did you go through to get them? I'm debating between Viper Blue Pearl, Pacific Blue Pearl, or Marine Blue.

I hope you don't mind if I copy you, because I've had this planned for a while now. :doh

I applied for a patent on the paint scheme, but since I stole it from the Cobra my application was declined. Just keep yours in Maine and I'll keep mine in Jersey and no one will be the wiser!

I don't know the exact colors. It was done by Gun Point Graphics in S.C.

Agreed. I don't have a reason to head down that way anyway. I'll stay in or north of Mass and we should be fine.

Do they have a website? I searched and couldn't find any info.

Stew, what did that cost you, if you do not mind me asking? I have been thinking of something very similar only keeping with silver and gray tones. Something like this:

I know, I know OCC whatever! But the paint scheme is nice.

I'm declaring this paint pattern reserved. no more bikes, cars, planes, or fire engines permitted within a 100 mile radius of the greater Philly metro area. all vehicle owners must now find a new paint scheme and are alotted a generous 30 day period to re-paint your items.

mine cost a whopping $500 plus $100 shipping both ways. I'm sure you can pay a lot more and get a lot more from him. See his web site. It took about 7 weeks but the holidays were right in the middle. I'm expecting delivery tomorrow according to UPS Web site.

Gunpointgraphics usually has an ebay listing going under Motorcycles>American >Body>Fender & Gas Tank Sets.

bwheeler111 - that color scheme was my 2nd choice. I had a Camaro in that scheme back in the olden days.

fdny37 - as a lover of both Camaros and Sporty's I'd say you're alright with me.
