I noticed that I do not have section 9 of the Race Tuner manual included with my disk, V 453.
I've heard mention of that section in other forums, and when I went to check that section in my copy...go figure...I have an OFFICIAL MOCO disk that skips from section 8 to 10!
WTF? Maybe I should reconsider my conspiracy theory.
Does anyone know how I can get access to this cliffhanger of a chapter? I want to find out what is loaded in my ECU. I have an 883C with stage 1 SE pipes and intake.
I think it is too rich at idle even after the motor reaches operating temperature, and I want to see the map that H-D loaded with the Race Tuner.
The PDF manual is satisfactorilly written, but the missing section is a blatant misrepresentation in my view!:censor

I don't think many members have purchased the SERT for the new EFI bikes. I agree the conspiracy theory seems to be the most popular explaination of the missing "9". Good luck, and let us know how the SERFing goes. :banana

Well, so far, I had to get on my knees first for the data cables, then for the latest software (at first they gave me last year's program disk that did not include sportys.)
After getting a good data-link, I discovered that the rev-limiter was set for 7000 RPMs!!!...doesn't that conflict with warantee/break-in parameters?
Then, since my exhaust smells very rich and even burns my eyes and nostrils, while at idle and operating temperature, I leaned it out a little at low map load and low RPM.
I would attatch graphs, but evidentally there is a bug in the printing application that does not always communicate with my network printer...perhapse a conspiracy?...probably not. I would assume that it is just a bug that will be worked out in the next revision.
The rev limiter is adjusted in the tuning constants menu, and the AFR is adjusted in the tabe selection menu.
I also made some short recordings in Data Mode with the knock sensor out of the loop.
This seems to be pretty much a rolling experiment, because technical know-how is rare even in the representative circles! I will continue to monitor and tweak my fuel efficiency in times to come. My last tank yielded 51 MPG...and that included a lot of diagnostic burning-up with no forward speed!
I don't want to let it get too lean during break-in, and, I don't want it to run too rich, if it is not necessary. Now that I am able to tweak my fuel and ignition characteristics, I can finally adjust the efficiency of my powerplant to my driving style...which is much more aggressive than the norm.
P.S. rhharrison, thanks for your posts. They are well thought-out and to the point...I will no doubt glean lots of info from this forum. I hope to contribute as well.
For those few that did consider the SERT, I will be happy to help with connectivity issues, if any arise. For those of you who are considering a Race Tuner, if it is within your budget, in my opinion, it is your most versatile choice! :)
