View Full Version : Anyone using Andrews N3 Cams?

Hello,

I have been reading all that I can on cams the last few days and haven't found much info on the Andrews N3 cams. I spoke with Dan at NRHS and he recommended N2s for my current configuration. The N3s are also said to be bolt in and I've been trying to find more info on them also. My heads are stock 883 with the exception of unshrouding the valves while they were off for the 1200conversion.

The Bike:
2004 883/1200 custom
10:1 Wiseco conversion pistons
Dragtron 2 A/C w/ K&N
Cycleshack drags w/modified baffles
Dyna TC88 ignition module
38 tooth primary engine sprocket

Head work is not in the budget this year.

Any info would be helpful for an educated decision...Thanks!

Yes, there is one person (ecworks?) that has installed those cams on this 1200 and has a dyno chart floating around here somewhere.

I guess I'm still not sure what the advantage of the N3 cams over the N2 cams would be. Looks like the N3 have less duration, open later and close earlier, more max exhaust lift, and more TDC lift. Guess they rely more on the exhaust to start the intake process? Anyone seen any compare runs between the two?

According to the J p Catalogue, the N3 cams are the only "bolt-ins for 04 - 07 Sportsters. Apparently all of the others (N2's included) require other modifications to work.

Are the N3's similar in performance to N2"s, that is focused on low and mid-rpm torque enhancement?

im using the n4's, direct bolt in,stock heads(no work done) dyna ign module, se11 slip-ons and se a/c, mikuni hsr42, 75 hp and torque runs really well,

Would the my bike need other modifications if i used n4 cams? a friend's selling cheap =D would it help at all?
I know cams aren't magical, maby i should get them and wait til i'm getting 1200 or 1250 :rolleyes:
stock 883 1996. Going for stage1 as fast as i can.
