I just bought Bruce Springsteens The Seeger Sessions and it is easy to see why Bruce is the Boss. This music is a part of American history I have all but forgotten. Songs I remember from elementary school and never heard again, sadly. I bout it from itunes and you get the video of them recording in a house, you can see Bruce pouring his heart and soul into this music. I want to get the word out to everyone I know to at least give it a try when someone like me is pushing folk music it must be something special !!!

The "Boss" if you really want to call him that, stayed playing his brand of rock and roll through the disco years, there wasn't that much to choose from. Stones were there Clapton and a few other hard core rockers but the "Boss" in my opinion doesn't even rate with Clapton, Stones, Page, Beck those guys are what I call Boss

I can't really say Bruce has impressed me since 1975.
He was the boss back then.

Ok maybe i was not clear, i am a big fan of his older work (pre 75 is hands down the best) but this is totaly different it is remakes of old folk songs like;
John Henry
Jacobs Ladder
pay me my mony down
we shall overcome
froggie went a courtn'
bring em home
American land

the music is raw unpluged, recordings from a live session Bruce was known for spending an incredible amount of time finishing ablums but this one they put out in just a few months.

once again i encourage anyone to just give it a listen check this link out

LOL. don't let 'em get to ya spanner man! Bruce IS the Boss. Like you said, those others are awesome too, but so is Springsteen. I wasn't wlways thrilled with SOME of the stuff he made after "Born in the USA", but then there was stuff like "Ghost of Tom Joad" which was excellent!

I had heard about "The Seeger Sessions" and had meant to pick it up, but it slipped my mind. Now that you reminded me, I'll go get it tomorrow.

Yeah I saw the same videos your talking about. I love that song "pay me my money down" He is the boss, one of the best artists of my generation. Him and U2 will go down as the best of my generation :smoke
