Problem is what do you do when you stop to piss. If you leave it there someone will likely take it and if you take it with you into the quiki-mart, well thats probly not a great idea either.

Just call up Arnold. If you find out, let us know. I've always wondered how he carried that newly stolen shotgun on the newly stolen bike. He just seems to stick it in somewhere, and off he goes.

In Texas, you would be fine with hanging a long arm on the bike and riding (As long as it is not being presented in a threatening manner)
I used to work at a range in college and one of our customers would ride his WWII G.I. issues Harley with a Tommy gun in a scabbard on the forks. The best part was that he would ride down Westheimer, a very busy street, just to show off that he could.

I have seen non-functioning guns incorporated into bikes, before. At the last Smokeout west I saw a few. It seems like if it's attached sorta permanent like and obviously non-workable, you should have no trouble. I think the one I most remember had a double barrel shotgun barrel end as a shifter (jockey shift).

In TN all long guns have to be unloaded and out of sight. If I could take a .22 to the range on my bike I'd do it all the time.

Carried my shotgun from Washington state through Canada into Alaska to the Arctic Circle and back last summer. Took it into campgrounds and motels / hotels....... no one ever said a word or questioned it......well some people did comment on it like when we were fueling up or eating lunch or something. Had the paperwork done to get it into Canada....had a trigger lock on it. It was never a problem.

I was at the local mall last week and saw this:

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, but it's an 870 that is LOCKED on the bike.the barrel end had a piece of pipe going into it to secure it down, then it had a locking pin (keyed) through the trigger guard. It looked a little homemade, but stout as hell.
He did have iron pigs m/c logos on his bike, so probably a cop, but even if he wasn't it would still be legal here in TX

Check your local laws. The law in the Communist Republic of California states that you cannot carry a concealed weapon (without a permit) and any weapon that is being transported must be unloaded and seperated from the ammo, they define seperated as both the gun and the ammo being in seperate locked compartments (glove box and trunk). I have spoke to a few police friends on the matter and they say that in my truck since there are not sperate lockable compartments I would be fine as long as they are seperated by gun case/ammo bag and are both inaccesable while driving, they also say by law I can sling a rifle across my back with ammo in a backpack and ride my bike to the range. They also say that by law I would be ok but the chances of me getting hassled would be great, and I may end up debating the wording of the law with a judge after I get arrested. What it comes down to is the cop, if he sees my earplugs and glasses along with a target he'd understand I was off to the range, if I'm cruising slowly down Main Street at 2 in the morning, I'd get shot first and questioned later. So like I first said, check the local laws in your area. Call any police station and they should tell you whats what.
