Due to the increased membership of The XL Forum and my limited ability to ensure that all member are honest it is with regret that I must forbid any type of solitation for donation of anything on The XL Forum.

I have to take these steps because a person who is now banned permanently registered mulitple names and attempted to get XL Forum members to donate parts to build a Sportster for "a friend" and I have good reason to believe that this "friend" does not exist.

The XL Forum has some of the most caring and compassionate people I have ever had the privilage to know (if only on the Internet). There are many here that would willingly give to a good cause selflessly and not even expect a word of thank in return.

Unfortunatly, there are also those that see others selflessness as an opportunity to take advantage of people they consider suckers and even more unfortunate is that some may even register here.

If anyone sees a post on The XL Forum where a solitation is being made to "donate" ANYTHING, please report it to the Adminstrators and/or Moderators.

If any XL Forum has a valid need and would like to request a helping hand from the XL Forum population, please contact me by PM or the CONTACT US link so that the actual need can be verified.

The SWAP section will remain open but thread and posts that ask for parts to be "donated" will be deleted. If you have parts that you want to donate then feel free to post them.

From this day forth any "DONATION" request threads will be created by me and me ONLY, only after it has been verified that the donation request is legitmate. I will create a new category for these thread and only the Admins and Mods will be able to create a thread in this category but all will be able to reply to the threads.

So hit the little triangle at the top of the page if we hear about someone wanting us to donate anything. Done, it's a shame it had to come to this.

It's unfortunate that this happened, but I think what Bert has done is all that could be done.Donations can still be requested or given you just need authorization first.Thats the way it should be.

It's a necessary evil in this virtual world we now live in.

With the good always comes the bad....let's just hope the later is a fraction of the good.

This site rocks and I'd take a bullet for any one of you.

Give respect and you get it back.

I think I may have inadvertently violated this before it was official, I was giving something away and said donations would be taken but not expected

No you did okay. If you have something to give away you can. But to ask for others to just send you stuff is taboo without authorization.
