Buddy of mine got some of the Kuryakyn Burly and Big'uns T-Bars (http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=harley&ci=2504) and he's going to run his wiring internally. The problem he has is how does he go about running his wires if he needs to feed them as diagrammed below? Any suggestions?

TIA!

he could try blowing some yarn or string with an airgun through the handlebars. when u get the yarn or string through tie something a little stronger onto it and pull it through and then tie the wires to it and pull em through. thats how i did my drag bars and mini apes.

hope that helps a little bit.

Any time I have had to do something like this I have tied a piece of tissue paper to one end of some string, placed the tissue/string in one hole then took a vacuum cleaner and sucked it through the bars from the other hole. Then tie your wires to the string and pull them back through the bars. It has always worked for me in the past. Good luck

bought a set of z bars and ran the wires internally. the best way i figured was i took some fishing line and tied it to a small nut and ran it through the bars to the center hole. tied one wire to the fishing line and pulled it back to the hole in the bars. i soltered the wires to the one wire and pulled them all through at one time. if you solter the wires they will not come loose. also spread some baby powder on the all the wires. it really helps them slide better.

dw.........

I usually don't do internal wiring in bars. I do it in the garage.

Sounds like an excellent idea. Should we have his Mrs. do it while she's on her knees or doesn't it matter? :frownthre (BTW, she hates the taste of chrome...I guess that's where the vacuum cleaner comes in handy, huh?)

Good, strong stuff...I hadn't thought of that.

I like the idea of the nut since you can now use gravity in your favor. And I like the idea of the baby powder...it always makes her smell so fresh...ER! UH! I mean, you know...anyway...

:laugh :clap :frownone I usually do internal wiring in my living room because if I'm tearing it apart then I'm obviously not riding it and if I'm not riding it then it must be winter and if it's winter then it's cold outside and if it's cold outside then it's cold in my garage and if it's cold in my garage then I'm doing it in my living room...and if I'm doing it in my living room then it's because I'm tearing it apart and I'm obviously not riding it and if I'm not riding it then it must be winter and...aah, you get the idea...

Thanks one and all for your suggestions and input! It sure was a LOT easier when I did it to my 16" ape's... :yikes

I had the wiring internal once on my Sporty. Looks nice but what if you want to change the bar? To much hassle for just little effect .... :D
