View Full Version : anyone hear of this hondahoot run/bike week in Knoxville, Tennessee?
mikeLI_77 1st February 2007, 00:07 A friend of mine and I usually take a week off every year and go for a week long ride to somewear every year. This year he wants to do this hondahoot thing in knoxville tennesee. He says that every type of bike will be there. Atleast that's what his friend he works with told him that has been to this a few times.
From what he makes it out to be and from what I read about it on the website it sounds like an Americade in tennesee. You have to register and then each day they have rides that go to different places which certain ones are included in registration and others are an additional fee. Also some rides are self guided (your paying for a lunch and they give you a map with the route already on it) and others are guided.
He tells me that they have a ride that goes through the dragon(this would be my main reason for going). I don't know much of the area so can someone please verify that for me. I see nothing about deals gap on it. The only Gap I see listed is cumberland Gap.
Here is a link to the website about it:

If anyone knows anything about this or has been there please let me know how it was and if it is worth going to and also if these rides they do are good rides. thanks.

sprtrjl 1st February 2007, 05:32 I haven't been to the HOOT but I have been to the Honda Homecoming at the assembly plant in Marysville, OH. There were all kinds of bikes there, so I'm sure there will be at the HOOT too. There are a lot of nice roads to ride in Tennessee. Pretty much just have to get off the freeways.
tcspannerwrench 1st February 2007, 11:07 we will be at deals gap that same week end i am sure a lot of the people from the hoot will show up there too

I will be headed the weekend of 5/19 with several buddys of mine to make are bi-annual motorcycle trips in spring and fall mostly. We loop the whole Great Smokey Mnt park and head over to Deals Gap from the Gatlinburg area, nice scenic rushing creeks watching people white water raft down is kewl as hell as you roar by them and see them wave on those nice back twisty roads..:banana Can also try your luck at the casino in Cherokee if your feeling lucky, they have special bike parking right in front of the casino. LOL
Great area don't miss it if you have the chance.

Does it really matter who sponsors it. Every type of bike will be there. I'm mainly going because of the Dragon which is only around 15-20 miles away from it. I take a trip with a friend every year and this year he wants to go to this so I'll do that and next year I choose the destination. 95% chance I will be riding the bike the 800 miles each way there and back just like I'll be riding to and from myrtle beach this year also. and HOG, Psst. Wont bother from what I see them do up by me. They get together and brag about there nice new softails then go for a 5 mile ride and go back to the dealer to brag some more and then go home. Not my type of riding.

Looks like there is a lot of fun riding down there. Can't wait to get there and finally be able to ride what up until now all I have done is thought about doing.

Oh. Didn't look that far on the map. That's not horrible though. So it's about 2 hours away I guess. thanks for the heads up on that. I would have been riding to it thinking it was only 20 minutes away and been wondering if I went the wrong way when I didn't come to it that quickly.

Thanks jamman. I'll check it out and see what's going on. Even if I end up not going to this hoot thing I would like to go to the dragon.

I looked in the Kentucky thread and I didn't see any threads with the title whats up. I saw the thread that talked about the meetup at the dragon but I didn't see any dates in the thread. Could you post the link so I can find it.
