The other is solid mount. IMO Hanoverfiste 1st February 2007, 17:31 so is this section for rigid frames or rigid mount motors? or both.. I will soon have both.. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/hanoverfiste/100_2219112.jpg gronk62 2nd February 2007, 04:12 so is this section for rigid frames or rigid mount motors? or both.. As far as I know its a forum area for rigid mount engine Sporties. hrg 2nd February 2007, 19:38 here is another one (rigid mount engine).......:banana klown 2nd February 2007, 19:43 rigid sporty's are the shit :smoke wagondog 2nd February 2007, 19:48 If I wanted a rubber mounter motor I would have gotten a TORO. :D xllent01 2nd February 2007, 19:49 Rigid mount sporty's rock!!!!!!!!! the raw essence of what a motorcycle should be.:banana http://xlforum.net/photopost/data/500/medium/Skull_Seat-6.jpg Casper 2nd February 2007, 19:54 DITTO Rigid is no shocks. The other is solid mount. IMO Agreed. Is there any chance we can change the section name to "Solidmount EVO..." to avoid further confusion? Usually "rigid" and "soft" are referring to the frame suspension, and "solid" and "rubber" are used for the engine...either that, or you're in the Super Off-Topic section, in which case they mean completely different things altogether. :D Rascal 2nd February 2007, 19:58 Women like "rigid" better... Mattbastard 2nd February 2007, 19:58 My rigid: http://www.labusas.org/photopost/data/500/12051.JPG 1STONE 3rd February 2007, 01:32 rigid is the way, built first and built better Dakin Engineering 3rd February 2007, 02:29 OK, who's got the oldest? I got one 20 yo and one 16. Fastest? Got a 139 slip from Maxton. HP? Th old girl makes 165; the teenager is, shall we say, unendowed. 20 years of reciepts?, never mind.... Sam vicks44 3rd February 2007, 05:39 Rigid, no rubbers shameless 3rd February 2007, 08:24 Yes, yes!!! Rubbers are BAD:spank pres41 3rd February 2007, 12:20 :tour Everyone likes likes it hard with a little vibration superwarden 3rd February 2007, 17:13 Using rubbers is like washing your feet with your socks on..... wrokhead 6th February 2007, 02:54 I like our new little spot here :) Wrokhead sprtrjl 6th February 2007, 03:36 :dunno I find this pretty interesting, On 12/27/06 I started a thread that said: "I noticed there is an Ironhead forum, a Rubber mount forum, Cafe forum, XR forum, is there an Evo only forum? Or is everything else for the EVO? If this has already been asked just delete this and PM me to tell me where it is." The basic consenus was that there were too many threads now and that all were EVO's except the Ironheads and older, and yada yada yada with a couple of geesches thrown in. I hadn't looked at this thread because I assumed it meant rigid frames. So what exactly is this thread going to be about? Motor mounts or Suspensions? :dunno :drinkup Mattbastard 6th February 2007, 04:07 Actually, not having counted em' all up, I'd venture a guess that there's more rubber mounts here than rigids. gronk62 6th February 2007, 06:44 So what exactly is this thread going to be about? Motor mounts or Suspensions? :dunno :drinkup Follow this link to a post I made earlier in this thread http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showpost.php?p=624226&postcount=14 stevo 6th February 2007, 06:54 mmmmm I thought it was for rigid frames too........ gronk62 6th February 2007, 07:05 mmmmm I thought it was for rigid frames too........ There's been the occasional request for a forum area specifically for the rigid mounted engine Sporties and this forum area appeared a few days ago. As the titles says "1986 - 2003" it is assumed it's for all rigid mount engine (EVO) Sporties and not for rigid framed Sporties...although I don't see why they can't post here anyway. Their engines are rigid mounted as well. Maybe Bert can make the title clearer. crackers 6th February 2007, 07:10 just change the title to solid mount, instead of rigid. my first thought was of the frame cheers crackers Twisty571 6th February 2007, 07:14 Well I have both as of Saturday but the weather isn't permitting me to ride :( hsport 11th February 2007, 09:53 It is nice to have a place of our own. 2001 1200C Jade Sunglo KIUDOG 14th February 2007, 03:41 isn't it ridgid?? thatbikerguy 14th February 2007, 04:00 solid mount checking in... cfl4rat 15th February 2007, 00:51 the best of both worlds rigid mount EVO in a rigid frame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u16/skylar4444/Picture042.jpg charlie7639 17th February 2007, 18:21 Hi mines rigid:D Ranger Bob 19th February 2007, 04:44 Using rubbers is like washing your feet with your socks on..... I always heard it in the Army that "Using rubbers is like taking a shower with your poncho on..." :laugh :doh :roflblack :headbang 74ironhead 24th February 2007, 05:31 THat is just about exactly what I hope to do in the future. I had a 74 ironhead on a paughco rigid, no front brakes, kick only, right hand shift of course. I didn't mind the rigid at all. I have a 97 with shocks, I can tell a difference, but shocks are overrated, and I wish like hell I had a kick backup for my evo. Later gang, sycle1 24th February 2007, 22:52 I agree with ya I miss the kick starter a bit. Once you have had a kick start you sorta feel naked without one. |
