Agreed. Is there any chance we can change the section name to "Solidmount EVO..." to avoid further confusion? Usually "rigid" and "soft" are referring to the frame suspension, and "solid" and "rubber" are used for the engine...either that, or you're in the Super Off-Topic section, in which case they mean completely different things altogether. :D

:dunno I find this pretty interesting, On 12/27/06 I started a thread that said:

"I noticed there is an Ironhead forum, a Rubber mount forum, Cafe forum, XR forum, is there an Evo only forum? Or is everything else for the EVO? If this has already been asked just delete this and PM me to tell me where it is."

The basic consenus was that there were too many threads now and that all were EVO's except the Ironheads and older, and yada yada yada with a couple of geesches thrown in. I hadn't looked at this thread because I assumed it meant rigid frames. So what exactly is this thread going to be about? Motor mounts or Suspensions? :dunno :drinkup

Mattbastard

Actually, not having counted em' all up, I'd venture a guess that there's more rubber mounts here than rigids.

There's been the occasional request for a forum area specifically for the rigid mounted engine Sporties and this forum area appeared a few days ago.

As the titles says "1986 - 2003" it is assumed it's for all rigid mount engine (EVO) Sporties and not for rigid framed Sporties...although I don't see why they can't post here anyway. Their engines are rigid mounted as well.

Maybe Bert can make the title clearer.

just change the title to solid mount, instead of rigid.
my first thought was of the frame

THat is just about exactly what I hope to do in the future. I had a 74 ironhead on a paughco rigid, no front brakes, kick only, right hand shift of course. I didn't mind the rigid at all. I have a 97 with shocks, I can tell a difference, but shocks are overrated, and I wish like hell I had a kick backup for my evo. Later gang,

I agree with ya I miss the kick starter a bit.
Once you have had a kick start you sorta feel naked without one.
