Hey guys just joined up today and am looking to buy a sportster. I want to go with the lowered look right away. I found this bike and want to make one look just like it. Can you tell me what kind/length of springs he has??

Those look like stock spring on a custom.

I've got shocks on mine from a Custom and those do not look like mine. Those look like 10 inchers, maybe Licks, or other? Easiest way to find out is to email the owner of that auction and ask.
edit: I'm assuming you meant the shocks because the springs are inside the front forks.

Those shocks look like mine. I have an 05 custom with Progressive shocks. The stock shocks have chrome at the bottom where they attach to the frame. The Progressives are painted black.

Opps, I thought he was talking about the forks.

I would say 10" or 11" progressive 412's. I have the same and that's what they look like exactly with the chrome ends and the painted black middle.

Yeah I was talking about the rear shocks. They look sweet. I emailed the guy yesterday and never heard back. So are they 10" or 11" progressive 412's, do others agree/disagree?? I will let everyone know if the owner ever emails back :clap

Since the picture is from the left side and the bike leans that way, it may look a little lower than it realy is. The other thing that makes the shocks look real short is that they have the lower chrome spring covers. I's say they are probably 11" Progressive shocks with the lower covers. But it's hard to tell from that angle, wait for a reply from the seller.

I agree, they probably are 11". Progressive does not make a 10" shock for sportys.

Do 10"er's lower the frame to the ground or do they lower the fender to the tire?

I'm pretty sure they do both.

You asked:
"How much did you lower it front/rear and what type of springs and shocks did you use?"
it was lowered by the dealer, i lowered it as much as possible and i think they said it was 1.25 inches in the rear and i dont know exactly how much in the front, but it was all done by harley.

That didnt help much... I found these shocks on ebay for a dyna. They look exactly like the ones on the sportster. Does anyone know if these lowering shocks will fit a 2004 sportster 1200 custom??

Don't think they'll fit the Sporty, but email the seller and ask if he has the shocks for the '04.. I'm sure he does, that's where I bought my shocks..
