Cobra was thinking about Danii who just got a set of similar pipes (http://www.xlforum.net/forums/showthread.php?t=112). Actually when you look at them side by side they are quite a bit different, but they are the same basic idea behind the shape. Sorry Mnemonic, but I think like Dannii's a little better, but everybody likes something a little different, thats what makes Harleys so nice.

1 - I had everything stock when i put the pipes on...
2 - When i did the pipes i also did a hypercharger pro, and rejet... In my opinion the preformance went up, this bike RIPS now...
3 - No, you dont need high in the revs to get good preformance, from a dead stop without slamming the throttle i have really good acceloration.

Thanks for all the replies.
I ordered with Ben, and he suggested that I use the torque cones and baffles for more low end torque and performance.
He says if I use both I shouldn't lose any performance at all.
He says the baffles are more for performance than quieting the sound.
I'll be putting them on this weekend and dyno'ing on monday or tuesday.
Stay tuned for the results!

I used to ride with a friend with turnout drag pipes and it was good for him and terrible for whoever rode next to them. They were ear splitters and awful for the people on the side. Something you should think about when buying pipes. I had to always have earplugs with me to make it bearable. They do look cool.

Mnenonic...Bear this in mind for future references. When you do any performance improvements, always do one thing at a time. Then you can truly tell if that one item gave you an improvement.
Your doing the pipes with the Hyper-Pro and a jet job did give you a zip. BUT the zip was from the Hypercharger and Jet Kit much more so that the pipes. Even the stock pipes and muff's would show improvement with a quality air intake.
Any one who likes the swoopy curve of those pipes should get and enjoy them. BUT, anyone looking for performance should stay away from straight pipes, curvy or not. Go with a quality 2 into one like T-Header, Lightening Racing, White E-Series, Etc. And asking if something is better than the stocks w/ Screaming eagle II's is a waste of time because just about anything is better that Factory crap...Even straight's.

Understood... but Im not riding to have a huge amount of HP between my legs... in my personal opinion the Hypercharger and the pipes were put on to make the bike look good and sound amazing. A increase of 5-30HP is a great benefit, but not the first thing i was looking for with these modifications :)

Yea, i got mine from a local ebay dealers for $175 and i picked it up, so no shipping :)
I'll tell ya, all the hypercharger is , is a K&N filter in a pretty box with vaccum driven butterflies..... but when your bike is on the kickstand and you rev it up around a crowd and they hear the pipes blaring and the butterflies open up when you rev... it definitly turns heads :)

By the way, the one thing i am not happy about with these pipes is the fact that they used standard steel to make the mounts for the back of the pipes... you will notice in a few weeks they will be 100% rust. very hard to keep rust free....

Just found this thread. Can't believe it. Litreally just saw these in the back of American Iron magazine, and couldn't believe me eyes. This is EXACTLY what I wanted for my Sporty, but never thought I would find a company that would make them. I almost fell off the couch when I first saw the ad. I love these style of pipes. They will fit my bike perfectly, because my bike is pretty chopped up as it is.
So I was wondering if any of you guys know a cheaper place to buy them, other than than the manufacturer? Also, now that it's been some time, do the people that have them still like them?

Just thought I'd add my 2c worth on this thread. I've been running these pipes for about a year now and just love them. I installed mine with the heat shields and have never had a burn problem. I also installed an S&S Super E Shorty at the same time and had to do some minor modifications to make it fit with this carb. All I had to do was cut a small half moon out of the shield so it would fit around the teardrop air cleaner. Can't notice any difference when its all installed. There seemed to be a huge increase in power and torque but, I don't really know if it was the carb or the pipes, or a combination of the two.
They do include an offset for the rear passenger foot peg. It raises that foot peg about 2-3 inches. I don't ride two up a lot but, my passengers say that its not that bothersome. There are no problems with forward controls because there's plenty of clearance where the forward's mount to the frame and the pipes are high enough on the frame that theres no problem with the rod running from the brake pedal to the master cylinder.
Quality is excellent. I have'nt had any problems with rust but, my bike is garaged and I seldom ride it in the rain. In this past year since putting the pipes on I have run about 8,000 miles.
Overall, if you like the looks, I'd highly recommend them.
