Sam's has this really nice aluminum lift for only $77.81. It looks incredible and is a lot lighter than the iron ones. My guess is that it can be 'one-handed' pretty easily, which I sure can't do with the iron one I just bought at Harbor Freight. Stated capacity: 1,500 lbs.

You can see the lift on the Sam's Club web site. Get to the site and search 'motorcycle' or Item: '709892'.

Looks cool but I wish there was a bigger picture. I guess I will have to go to Sams to get a look.

Do you need a card to enter the store or just to purchase?

Someone is always at the door checking cards when entering or leaving!

Just to purchase, they will let you in to walk thru the store, kinda like a guest pass, just have to tell them when you enter.

I think the aluminum Sam's jack is really pretty. From a functional standpoint, I'd much rather pump the lift up with my foot and use my hands to steady the bike on the way up. On the way down I would also use my foot to modulate the lowering, while I stabilized the bike. I actually don't care for the hand lever on the Sam's lift and having to twist it to lower it. JMO.

I can't tell from the picture, but some of the Sam's lifts in the past have raised up at an angle instead of parallel to the floor. This one is a different design so it may not have that problem.

I have the Pep Boys jack, still in the box. I'd return it if I hear good things about this one.

Anybody got one?

It kinda looks chintzy by the picture there. I have PEppy boys one also and am gonna keep it . 600 # bike needs something HD under it IMHO

Looks like there would be issues with it clearing the jiffy stand too, even worse than the Pep Boys model. Hmm...

It looks like it'd be easy to modify this one a bit. I'd remove that axle and get a couple bolts for the wheels. You'd have all kinds of clearance then.

Mine hits the kick stand but really not a problem I pull my bike upright then pump the lift up . The kick stand actually acts as a guide I think so any ways.

That's my experience as well.

For those who actually haven't seen it, the aluminum Sam's jack is very nice looking and looks very substantial. I just don't like the operation of it. Most of the motorcycle/atv jacks on the market have settled on foot levers to raise and lower the jack, leaving your hands free to steady the bike. The Sam's aluminum jack works just like an automotive floor jack...pumping the jack up requires a pretty good arc of motion away from the bike...not a comforting thought for those with shorter arms...

They sure have dropped there price on it!!! When I first saw that jack it was going for about $140.00 then about a month ago it was at $99.00!!!

Now you say it's going for $77.00!!!

When I measured the height of it collapsed it was to high for my bike(it's lowered) so I went for the Sears!! :D

Eh, I guess I'll stick with the Pep Boys one. Even though it weighs a freakin' ton. ;)

I was replacing my rear belt the other night and had the bike on a floor jack. I didn't like the fact it wobbled all over every tome I tried to do something. So I bought this lift. It should arrive next week. It was $650 delivered. I just happened to have enough money right now. It should pay for it self the dealership is $75 labour. So every time I do something it will justify the price. As for safety I won't have to worry about it falling on me and someone finding me days later in the garage. It has a 5 year warranty. Here is the web site. http://www.superlifts.com/html/lifts/Motorcycle.htm

I really like the LARIN I bought at Tractor Suply....cost 50.00 on sale...normally 80-90? has ouriggers, too, which I liked a lot.....

I have seen these up close, they are not chintzy at all. I do see the other points of the pros and cons though. like foot or hand controls for different tastes, but if your worried about your bike falling then use tie downs.

I have the sam's lift myself, but i wish i would have waited and gone with the sears lift. For one, the sam's lift does have some clearance issues, with my 04 1200R/C, let alone trying to get it under my buddies LowRider. The Sears lift is foot operated and much easier to use/store
