hello, Em here, from Tampa FL. Currently Sportster-less, but had an '89 1200 conversion with Fat-bobs, for several years. I really loved it, but being a 4 speed, it seemed limited for the increasing amount of long distance riding I was doing.
I loved the bike tho. Reliable, good looking, after the conversion it was FAST.
So then I went to the opposite end of things and got a 4 cyl Honda Magna. Nice too, but...I was bored.
Now my rider is a Suzuki SV650.
I like it ok, but am being SORELY tempted back into the Sporty life by the way the new Nightster looks. And I can only imagine the EFI, rubber mount and 5 speed make it pretty much easier to tour on than my old bike.
So thats why I'm here, and just to see where folks are at these days in the Sportster world.
Even tho I end up doing trips for most of my mileage, I do love the bobber look.
I have a project bike - vertical twin, Yamaha XS650 (oldy) which was gonna be my bobber project. But my house needs my attention, as far as my time, and that Nightster is looking really fine to me.
I like all the XL's, but that "N" has its hooks in me.
thanks
Em
