I have now had my bike for a few days, and I'm absolutely thrilled. I have only managed to put 100 km's/62 miles on it so far, taking it easy around my neighborhood, but I'm loving every minute of it. Each time I take it out, I find it a bit easier to cope with turns an corners. Being new to motorcycling, I'm taking it very easy to begin with, to avoid any accidents. The ever growing feeling of control is extremely nice, and I am just beginning to understand how much fun this is going to be.
The first few miles I almost felt embarrassed towards the bike, feeling I wasn't worthy her attention and making every effort not to upset her. Sort of like an unbelieveable first date with the prom Queen or something like that. Then as we start to get to know eachother better, I feel more secure and comfortable, and I start to take more and more control.
I can't wait to take some longer trips, and also meet up with my buddies who also just bought new bikes (1 XLC and 1 Triumph). I allready get a lot of attention when on the road. My beloved SE Pro II's make sure to raise some heads, and so far they're all smiling. Got "the eye" from a neighbour yesterday though, but I guess his just envious..
Also looking forward to going to NYC in May, and hopefully pick up a few parts I'm aching for. Especially a detachable sissy setup, which is extremely expensive here ($1000+ for the lot). Genuine HD motorclothing is also high in demand, as the prices are trippled in the stores here. Of course there are a lot of alternatives to HD clothing, but I have personally yet to see a jacket that looks better than the "1/2 mile" from last years collection.
Can't wait to get back out there..
