View Full Version : CCCP - Custom Sporty Choppers
bplinson 27th March 2005, 14:39 As many of you know, a couple of weeks ago Schnuki and I drove down to Malters Switzerland to visit CCCP Choppers.
I interviewed Coni the owner and main builder and you can read about it here:

Sorry about the photo quality but I forgot my camera at the hotel so I had to make the photos from the video which is downloadable.

xllent01 27th March 2005, 22:55 XLFORUM: How much does a custom bike from you normally cost?
Coni: Normally from 50,000 to 100,000 Swiss Francs ($45,000 - $85,000)
Geesh, is that $45000-$85000 US $ dollars? For that money stateside
you could buy 4 times the bike with half the money. :yikes
earthoverdrive 11th April 2005, 04:37 Those ammo cans fit well on those bikes. Very cool. It gives me ideas.

I missed Schnucki posing bikini clad on one of them ... ;) ;) ;)
tobiism 30th June 2005, 02:50 Those prices are so ridiculous. Hey, if they can actually get people to spend it, more power to them! The people buying them on the other hand.... :frownthre
bplinson 30th June 2005, 06:41 You are right...they are expensive but these are not build out-of -the-box choppers that you can buy in the back of some motorcycle magazine. Over 75% of the the bikes are fabricated by Coni and his crew. He is a custom bike builder, not a custom bike assembler.
I also would not spend so much on a motorcycle but you really have to see these bikes in person to appeciate them.
Hanoverfiste 15th January 2006, 22:09 hey Bert, any chance of a 16x7 or 16 x 8 motorcycle wheel being a common build size over there, I would be interested in getting one shipped over, if you could point me in the right direction... it would be much appreciated...
Draco 2nd April 2006, 23:05 post......

What you don't realize is that when puchasing parts he has to pay European Taxes on them. Don't know about Switzerland but, here in Italy thats 30%(probably not much different). If he's buying parts from the states he also has additional import fee's. It really adds up. Ya'll in the states think you have high taxes but, your total taxes paid is one of the lowest in the world!
P.S. Bert, you missed your calling, you should have been a producer/director. :laugh:laugh:laugh
buba6 12th January 2009, 08:58 As for the prices, I would say it is normal in Europe. In my country, Poland, if I would like to build and sell a bike as a company, I would need to pay on all the parts imported from US about 30% tax from parts cost + shipping. So if for example a frame costs $1 000 and $200 for shipping, my total cost would be $1 560. If I would go with European parts catalogues, as for example W&W, I would need to pay for a normal 40 spoked 21' wheel about $400. Stuping things like a normal, not eaven chrome, bolt in US size, costs about 2$. Not mentioning that buying a donnor bike is expensive to, for a 1200 '99 sporty, you need to pay about $6 000 - $7 000. So as you see, it ends up to be a preaty big investment.
And that is not all, at the end, you need to pay 20% income tax, if you have a fabricator, you would need to pay him about $2 000 a month, which for you as a company, adding taxes, would be about $3 500 a month.
