Well, this is about all the norwegian i`m gonna write here in this forum:p

I came across this forum by accident thru google but as i said in another thread: :xlrocks
I live in the northwest of  nearby a town called Ålesund
I am 36 years old and have a doughter at 9.
I own a -70 XLCH wich is nothing like when it left the factory before i was even born. I bought it for xmas in -99 and had it on the road as it was the summer of 2000. When i took it out in the spring of -01 it only lasted for about 2 months before one day my kick got stuck in the bottom position after starting it and i didn`t notice until i got home from work. Lots of bits & pieces in the primary. Well, it took me about 4 hours to fix that but the rest of that season went by as i was rebuilding the rest of the bike. The elecrical seems lik it was just thrown on the bike and after lowering the rear my exhaust was to low for turning right so i had to make a new one. I didn`t like the stock oiltank so i got myself a new one made and i relocated the battery. I also wanted a new rearfender so i made a new one from a WLA 750 springer frontfender and some new stainless struts. In spring -02 it was ready to fire up and i had almost 3 weeks of fun with it until my rear jug cracked down at the bottom. I got a new used one from Sweden and replaced the cracked one. After that it didn`t start:doh
I got tired of the whole bike and left it out to die. For 2 years it sat out all year until fall -04 when i decided to kill it properly. I riped the engine out, took of the tank and left everything out in the snow again. Last fall a friend of mine said that if i didn`t get started on the bike by xmas he would come and get it, finish it and i would never see it again (this was the friend that helped me with the rebuild back in -01 so i kinda owed him to finish it mysef)
Before snow came i took it in to my shop where my projectcar is and started to pull it apart. It didn`t go fast but then my friend came again and said that the bike had to be finished by the end of april.
So now as one thing lead to another i have a rebuildt engine and a bare frame to put it in. I also have a deadline:yikes

This was a little about me, a lot about my sporty and the rest, well, i`ll be seeing you around in the forums;)
Guess i`ll be making a thread in the projectszone soon, but IMO a projectthread is worthless without pictures and as i understand i have to have at least 15 posts to put in links or pictures... but, they will come.

And as a little warning: as i am Norwegian i am not used to write english so there may be some gramathical mistakes and some wrong spelling. If you find any, feel free to keep them as i don`t want them anymore, i have plenty:D

Welcome to the forum. You don't need to apologize for your english, it's better than a lot of the native english speakers. Can't wait for the pictures.

I rode thru Norge in 94. I rode up north of Bergen and then to Prekestolen. Climbed to the top and then went riding across to Lillihammar, down to Osloand then back to Denmark then Germany. Your country is a motorcyclists dream in the summer. I loved it there.

Thanx for all the positiv feedback, pictures are coming ( just 4 posts left now;) ) And you have right rottenralph, Norway is a great country for riding bikes during the 2 months of summer:D Prekestolen is in Geiranger wich is just 100-150 km from where i live and Ørnestigen (Eagles path) wich leads down to Geiranger is one of the coolest places to ride in May ( in June the German tourists come with their mobile homes and then it`s no fun anymore:( )

Time for a little update here aswell:)
Willpreval: Maybe, as my gf also lives in Oslo;)
Renpia & Sundance: Almost done now:D (http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=50236)
Torkil: I know all about that. I bought mine in Trondheim for X-Mas in 1999 and drowe my Caddy Pickup up to get it. I drowe over Dombås on the way up and at Bjorli I stopped to see a friend of mine. When I tried to open the door it was so frozen I had to kick it open ripping the doorseal! On my way home I drove Gråura but that`s another bad story;)
