Thinking about removing the swingarm on the sporty. Gonna do the grit blasting myself at work.

Is it advisable to change or leave the bearings in the swingarm? Will be using a heavy duty tape for the masking up.

What will be the best way to get them out? Do not have access to presses.

Thanx for any help.

Bearings in my 05 came out with a light tap on a socket, after I removed the "C" clips...:geek:geek:geek

Snowman has a different frame, you'll need the factory (broken record) manual IMHO.

If you want to leave the bearings, bushings in the swingarm, take a bolt long enough to fit through each "loop" of the swingarm and bolt washers in place to cover each opening. Worked for me when I sanded and painted my swingarm.

cheers Matt, got the service manual & clymer as well. Used to folks on another forum banging on about the correct manuals & parts books. Will be in Orlando in May, so will order a parts book then.
