Why do threads keep getting moved? even very old ones?

because there are new mods, that are trying to clean up the area they are responsible for.

Because its winter still and people are bored? LOL I don't know I had a old one or semi old one moved the other day.

Before these new mods we just didn't have the time to be moving all the threads that fell into a "grey" area.

I appreciate the work they are doin' to keep things tidy.

I have plenty of respect for the Mod's, and no small amount of appreciation. Incredibly easy for a Forum to get out of hand and lose members and respect. Which is something I wouldn't expect here due to the Members and the Mod's...

But, and it's a big but. Why are we moving threads that have many replies, are an age old and have never been moved before?

No, not started drinking again, but 3 threads that I have posted, one more than a year ago have been "Officialy moved"...

Okay no problem, assuming they were in the wrong place to start with.

But I respect the Forum and it's members and I try Very Hard to make sure anything I post is in the correct area.

So when you suddenly start getting emails and pm's telling you "Message has been moved"

You begin to wonder whether it's worth being a part of the place...

I agree it certainly would be annoying, but Im shure it wont last long. As soon as the "newness" wears off of the new mods it will prolly work out just fine, till we get more mods. LOL

I remember a time a while back when Gronk, Gotwa and I were doing a lot of moving things around. But that was a year or so ago before the matrix automatically sent emails to people. Back then no-one ever knew they're posts were moved and not very often did anyone notice or complain. Ever since this new auto notify software has been there I don't bother reorganizing anymore, it just ain't worth bothering people with a PM, when you know the PM is whats pissing them off more than the fact that the thread slid over to the right a little.

I think most of the problem is the PM. I've had a few of my threads moved in the last couple days too, and my first reaction is always WTF too.

If moved posts causes you to rethink whether the Forum has anything to offer you and whether you have a contribution to make, maybe you should sit back and rethink it a bit. Just a bit petty.

Moving threads to where they belong has been needed for a long time and now it is being done.

Do not take it personal if a thread you started gets moved. If you think it was moved by mistake or to the wrong category please contact me about it with the URL of the thread and let me know which category it was in orignally.
