Those boots look MUCH better than the ones on the Nightster......
rottenralph 4th March 2007, 00:06 Preacher, looks like not only you are on a diet. I imagine you are going to get a good bath if you ever happen upon a little rain. WHat kind of tires are those. They look like car tires.

Avon MkIIs..... I love the look but it DIVES into turns... gonna have to take it easy and get used to it.
cootertwo 4th March 2007, 00:12 Yes, what he said.... And do you have a make/part number for those boots? Those tires are huge!
rottenralph 4th March 2007, 00:15 Where is the rack for the wood kickstand block? I am guessing you are looking for a longer one.
Preacher 4th March 2007, 00:43 Yes, what he said.... And do you have a make/part number for those boots? Those tires are huge!
There is basically one size fits all type thing on offroad shocks.... Just walked in, asked for some shock boots, paid the man.

Yep... gotta find one that doesn't tip the bike almost freakin horizontal :doh
I payed probably $15 for my shock boots in 2000. I just went in to a bike shop that sold motorcross, gave them the diameter of my forks and lowers, and they gave me the corresponding universals.
Preacher 4th March 2007, 19:57 Figured out the handling issue...
The rubber isolators in the top tree were throwing me off. They just felt too mushy when trying to turn that fat ass front end.
I took a knife to 'em, cut off all of the rubber so they are flush, and used to large washers so that the bolts and the bottoms of the risers are effectively mounted directly to the metal of the upper tree.
Makes a HUGE difference!
Took her for a short ride today, ran some figure 8s and some donuts, some back and forth sloloms in a big parking lot to make sure everything was performing as she should.
Definitely different handling over the skinny front, but overall, I am happy with the ride.
that is a mean lookin sporty.
hybriDatsun350 4th March 2007, 20:08 She's lookin' pretty frickin badazz man! :banarock

crackers 4th March 2007, 22:23 g'day preacher
i know your gonna hate me for say this, but
the side on profile looks good, maybe just a little high for me
but the rear shot looks empty, looks as tho it needs the fender back in or a fatter rear tyre
other than that it looks killer
cheers

scottgearman 4th March 2007, 22:32 Thats an amazing bike. A work of art

I know... the rear view is odd, and it is in part because of the shocks. They make the rear end look a lot wider. I think, if I were to strut the bike, it would look better.
Having said that, I am not going to strut it or hard tail it. I ride this bike every day, commute to work etc. It is not a weekend bar hopper or a show bike (Ha!) so I want some comfort as well as a cool look.
rottenralph 4th March 2007, 23:16 Preacher, The polyurethane bushings are much better for the front. Those babies only give a little and still do a great job of controling vibes. You should try a set. They are worth the 12 bucks.
snowman 4th March 2007, 23:32 Yep...
I am going to call it "Urban Assault Cycle"
Right term for an outstanding ride!!!!! :wonderlan :wonderlan :wonderlan
shameless 16th March 2007, 02:30 I like it alot Preacher. A fine job! But to be 100% honest, I liked it better without the big tires. Good thing it ain't my bike huh?:p
