Can anyone tell me, apart from being painted black, are there any other differences between the 1200 S std Silencers, and other 1200's? My year is 2002, and the previous owner fitted Cycle Shacks (I think), and he dont have the std silencers.

Don't have an answer for ya, but thought I'd bring this to the surface again, in case someone online tonight does.

Well, alternatively, can anyone suggest a place I could get this information?

Silencers? Do you mean mufflers? If so the stock mufflers on the 1200S are the same exact stock mufflers on any other sportster of the same year (or range or years).

Whoops, yes Shu thats what I mean, we usually call them silencers over here, but seeing as Im on a US forum, I really aught to have used the word mufflers! Anyway, thanks for that, I would have been surprised if they were any different but thought I better check. The S ones might be hard to get hold of compared with the standard 1200's, and besides I prefer the mufflers chrome.

You can always do the Gronk mod if stock mufflers bottle it up too much.

If your running straight pipes, buy some baffles. They'll quiet it down pretty good.
