EVERYONE here has an open invite to stop buy, kick some tires, drink a beer (or soda)... ESPECIALLY if you're traveling on the bike and might be passing through/near Philly and the surrounding area. PM me, get a cell phone number. Even if you don't stop by, keep it handy JUST IN CASE!

Ya know, maybe I'm hitting on a suggestion here and I should start a separate thread.

Lots of bike organizations (like Guzzi and BMW clubs in the US) keep lists of their members who are willing to provide help in an emergency. Maybe the XL forum should start one?

Some organizations (BMW MOA) make it anonymous - they just sort the info by state and town. Some organizations leave your name there too.

The MOA lists what the members wish to offer using codes that stand for

coffee and conversation
tent space
tools
some parts
truck/trailer

stuff like that.

Anyway, offer stands to all,

i realy enjoy meeting and riding with the members here. this summer we (KY,IN folks) are meeting them crazy VA guys at Deals Gap seeing Kevins bike in person will be cool

Looking at the XL Member World Map, it seems that most of the Members are located In North America, and then in Europe.
Lets have an XL convention every two years alternating between North America and Europe. A weekend full of workshops on tech stuff, riding and partying for those that are so inclined. Just an Idea, probably not the first time it's come up. I vote for Germany in 2008.

This is why I'd like to meet Kev (and his wife rides, too!). Something I recently discovered that is an extension of what Kev is suggesting is the Motorcycle Travel Network http://www.motorcycle-travel.net/ (http://www.motorcycle-travel.net)

It's a continent-wide network of moticyclists who are willing to make their home available to traveling bikers. Reciprocity is required if someone would like to stay with you. Fees are very reasonable. I'm probably going to join (once we get the guest bathroom re-done). What a great way to meet folks from all over who share a similar interest!

Everybody here is ALWAYS welcome for a stop at Hooty's garage to have some cold ones, do some wrenching, crash on a pass through, grab a bite to eat, or whatever the need is! If you're gonna be passin through the Hoosier state and need anything just PM me for a contact number.

My wife and I ride through Biddeford up and down Rt 1 all summer long down to York Beach.

I have gotten together every year since 2004 with a bunch of women I met on another (non-motorcycle) forum, and we've agreed that it's the high point of the year for us. In fact, every year, it gets harder to say goodbye at the airport as we head back home. I'm thinking it wouldn't be quite that "mushy" at an XLF meet-up with less estrogen and WAY more testosterone, but it'd still be a whole lotta fun!

I plan on camping at The PA Grand Canyon (weather permitting otherwise the motel that CaptEvo stayed at on his recent PA trip)

These are some dirt roads south of the Canyon that run through the woods that will be the start to my ride on day two.

I've met two members. deepdiver (and his missus) and joker1200.

There are quite a few others I would like to meet, (maybe all of you) but chances of that are fairly slim due to where I am and where the majority of the others are. Maybe some day... who knows?
