View Full Version : 07, Stage 1 Stage 2 ECM upgrade

Anyone with an 07 had their ECU staged by the dealer? Or how about anyone that works for a dealership that could find out what the downloads actually do. What I am wondering is if the redline is extended when they do it and if so by how much? Does anyone really know for sure? I have been told different things by different dealerships so I am looking for some verification if possible.

Well, here is some recommended reading for you from previous threads regarding remaps:

To answer your question, yes the stage 1 flashes/remaps that guys are getting done around here change the rev limiter. The only other way I know of to change the rev limiter is with a SE Race Tuner (or SERT).

Thanks for the point in the right direction. At least that is evidence that some dealers are doing it when they reflash. The reason that I'm trying to find out is that I have been told by some that the reflash does not raise the redline, and told by others that it is discretionary and up to the tech doing it. I'm trying to find out if it's a preprogramed download or what might be the discretionary settings if they are indeed selectable by the tech. That dyno run is the first true evidence I have seen that can be part of the download, just not sure if it is always done with the download. Thank for the feedback
