The First Ever 4 States in 4 Hours Run!

Start in SD, ride 12 through NE, swing up 75 through IA, head west on 90once you get to MN, and back down on 29. It's only 230 miles, so nothing big there. The kicker will be the fact that you have to average 60mph to have enough time to get gas in there somewhere to do it in only 4 hours. Basically, its different from every run I've ever been on where its usually a lot of f-ing around and not a lot of riding. I've been thinking about doing this for sometime now, and figure one of these weekends would be a good time to give it a shot. Anyone in interested?

I'll be retiring in 5 years, God willing and if this becomes a yearly event I'll be there in 2014. In the mean time have a good time.

Hopefully it does! So Bob's in for the 5th annual 4 states in 4 hours run. Anyone up for the first one?

To clarify a few things - there's no registration, no fees, no prizes, no stupid T-shirts, no fundraising, and the date is still TBD. All you basically get is a story about the time you rode in 4 states in 4 hours. Ok, to sweeten the pot, brats and burgers to follow at my place, bring your own beer.

Sounds like fun, I did a 3 states ride from Sioux Falls a few years ago. Good luck.

It all depends when? I'm about ten hours away from Sioux falls well maybe a little more,I was going to go to Minot in June to visit a friend.

Its just a matter of which bike I'll be on. :)

Are you worried that you might not notice the fuel light on the Buell again, or that the Shovel will be too thirsty for that 2.5 gallon tank?

Speaking of which - I have yet to see the chopper in action, are you going to be around this weekend? Maybe I'll wander that way...

If you do this again, I'd like info too! I'm in Lincoln, Nebraska, but I've got family in Sioux Falls, so it'd be easy for me to work in a visit.

For reasons waaaaay beyond my control, it got cancelled (more about that some other time). So for all of you who are interested and thought you missed it I have good news, we'll be giving it another shot in 2010. Yes, the 2nd Annual, First Ever, 4 States in 4 Hours Motorcycle Run is in the works! I'm thinking of doing it early in the season because everyone is itching to ride - any suggestions?

You are going to need way more than 2 days to get up here, unless you plan on loading your bike into the back of your truck, and even then between the ice and snow drifts, the fastest you could go would be 35, maybe 45... I'd like to run it late April, early May - might be a PITA because of rain, but we'll figure it out.

742 miles, according to Google maps. If ever find yourself out this way, I've got plenty of room in the back yard for a tent, and a couple of couches in the basement.
