I was hoping someone on here could help me crack the vin number of the sporty engine I purchased tonight. I got a great deal I think but the seller bought it at a swapmeet and was unsure of the exact year he thought it was a 97 883. The VIN starts CEMX1265.....any info would be helpful, are you out there casper? I didn't pay much and it is going to be a custom application.

That would be a '99 engine, based on the X.

That is good news, two years newer than expected, I do need to find a carb and intake though, is the stock a cv42?

It is a cv40 carb.
