I purchased a 2007 883 Custom and the stock seat was ridiculous. My girlfriend could only ride with me for about 5 minutes before she was in pain. She would be in pain for a long time after that. I think that the stock seat should be more comfortable than cool. Let the guys who care about style get a new seat not the ones that want to ride. What do you think?

I went through the same thing with my wife (5 minutes max). After reading all the posts on many threads I came to the conclusion that the ugliest seat was the most comfortable for women. Our first ride was 55 miles. It's a H D Sondowner. I put the stock one back on when it's only me.

Well I've got a Mustang daytripper and love it, GF hates it. Sundowner is much more easier on the rear end. Some people love the stocker...

Tell the gf the reason the seat feels uncomfortable is because she's a biaoch and to shut the f up.

I purchased a sundowner myself and it was worth every penny for the GF.

Old trick from chopper guys: use an inner tube from wheelbarrow as a seat for GF. I used the trick when I had Night Train w/ original badlander seat andf GF was actually quite pleased with it (or at least she could live with it after sitting on badlander for couple of hundred kilometers :p ).

Same story here. The wife wants another seat. I like the look of the stock 2005 1200c seat but harley needs to put softer foam or gel in it. my first ride I put 200 miles on the bike and couldent sit back down for a few days. After 2000 miles My A$$ is finaly use to it but I'm still getting a aftermarket seat.

HD knows what they are doing, comfy won't sell as many bikes as looks and they get the best of both worlds because most buy another seat. I also have a sundowner.

I did some research and it turns out that BIKNUT is correct. It is a scientifically verifiable fact that if the girl is uncomfortable it is due to the fact that she is indeed a bitch and therefore needs to shut up.

Maybe she should get her own bike. It's definitely more comfy to be the rider vs. passenger. I've got 3200 miles on my 2007 XL Custom with stock seat and don't have any complaints about comfort. :)

I think the stock seat on my '07 883R is the most comfortable stock seat I've ever had. It might be as comfy as the corbin I have on my SV650. The back seat however isn't so nice. My GF doesn't really like to ride on the back for long anyway but she says it's especially un-comfy. Luckily we have a 150cc scooter for around town, it has a very large, comfy seat and a basket for her to lean against.

Stock seat on my 2006 1200L was downright painful on long rides. I was sore to the bones. A LePera Daytona LT suits me fine, and in my opinion looks as good if not better than the stocker. Maybe the LePera raises the seat height up a bit when no ones on the bike, and HD does want that measurement as low as possible, but the feel when sitting in the saddle is no different than the stock for height although it did move me forward a bit which was good for me. Others report the stock 1200L seat to be just fine.

Wife rode with me once.............HER: 1) "your going too fast" 2) "look out for that bump" 3)"your shifting too much ME: "shut up and hold on"
I put on the solo seat after that ride and she hasn't been on it since!
