I finally got round to modding my stock XB12X pipe today. The stock pipe is so quiet you can barely here it running.First pic is the pipe chopped up....

I did away with the three pipes (2nd from the left)....fitted a slightly larger centre pipe and made a new end plate.

Being a prototype I was'nt to concerned about how it looked and did'nt want to spend too much time on it in case it did'nt work.Bolted it all back up,left the servo hooked up and took it for a ride.More power down low and wheelies easily in first and second gears.Mid range and top end feels about the same.Nicer exhaust note but not as loud as I expected.
I also tried it with the servo cable diconnected and the interactive valve wired open....much nicer note.....like a sporty with slipons but not quite as loud.....It ran about the same as before but felt much stronger in the top end...
All in all a good days work and $10 well spent.......:D

jack82; what all was involved in getting the thing apart and back together? you planning to get it on the dyno?

It was alot easier than I expected. Two straight cuts to get into it then knocked the pipes out. They are pressed in not welded.I made a stronger end plate as this is the jackpoint and I did'nt want anything bending. Then just miged it back together.
My nearest dyno is three and half hours away so i'ts the butt dyno for the moment. But I've got a mate with a stock uly so we'll do a bit of side by side roll on testing soon.I need to put some miles in to see If I've picked up any vibration and to check fuel consumption.
I want to get a couple more stock pipes and try a few other designs.Interested to see how a full race pipe with no servo will go.....:D
