Just recently, both blinkers started acting up. First only flashing a couple times, then only maybe once, now not at all. Haven't had the chance to really dig into the troubleshooting. Any thoughts? Flasher?

Most likely a flasher, but I'd pull the bulbs out and check each of them. You can purchase replacement bulbs in two packs for a few bucks. If one is out, I'd replace the other as well (as in both rear or both front) just to be safe. Check the bulbs, and put a little dielectric grease on the bulb socket base. Helps to keep moisture at bay.

So, I found some time and pulled the headlight to start with the flasher. During trouble shooting, I found that all bulbs would light for like one flash. So some goober (previous owner) installed a cheapo AZ flasher that did not fit. This one ground itself apart on the flasher mount inside the bucket. So I go to the @#$%^$%^ STEALER and purchased the new universal? replacement, and $20.00 later all is good. Man what a rip. I've always respected my dealer, but geezz, I guess I know why the previous owner used the cheapo unit. By the way, the Harley part doesn't fit the older square mount flasher holder any better.

Glad you found your problem. I might consider going to NAPA, AutoZone, etc and checking their flashers. I would think you can get a high quality flasher from them that will fit at a lot less!
Also, consider applying some dielectric grease on the base of your turn siginal and tail lamp bulbs. Just a little preventative maintenence.
