I asked the harley shops and they couldn't tel lme Duane Wood 23rd April 2007, 06:11 The front head motor mount is different. Why not use Sportster XB heads? They are the same heads as far as flow/performance. http://www.nrhsperformance.com/ Take a look here. winsblow 23rd April 2007, 21:08 well I got some for a good price (400.00) and were just going to get them worked on. What would you recommend (work wise) from nallin. I am trying to build a budget rod and would love 100hp. Any suggestion??? bigshaff44 23rd April 2007, 21:46 I just got done installing a set yesterday. The side motor mount will be tight. I had to bend it to make room for my choke cable. The bolts on the front motor mounts are a different size also. When I ask the Harley shops about putting the XB heads on mine they all said it couldn't be done. Come to find out that Harley makes a front motor mount to convert over. NRHS Sales 23rd April 2007, 21:50 You also need to drill and tap for breathers as XB heads do not have any stock MOREHP 23rd April 2007, 22:51 You are going to have to run some high compression and cams to get you close to the century mark. Going to have to get the heads up to at least a stage two with a perfect tune and perfect exhaust. Getting 100 HP is not easy, and very $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Its fun trying tho, good luck winsblow 27th April 2007, 01:15 morehp. what setup are you running? what kind of power does it produce??? streetfighter1 27th April 2007, 18:04 100 rwhp is very easy, it can be done with all factory parts although the heads will need a good port job (NRHS). Your XB heads are a step in the right direction. CBAS5 27th April 2007, 18:35 100 rwhp is very easy, it can be done with all factory parts although the heads will need a good port job (NRHS). Your XB heads are a step in the right direction. Easy? No way. Look at the dyno section with all the builds that have NRHS/other brand stage2 / stage 3 headwork and see how many of them hit 100 rwhp. wildwill8 27th April 2007, 18:41 I have a set of silver XB head and the Short Push Rods you need to run them for sale. |
