I'm considering changing out my front drive pulley with one off an 883. My question is do I have enough adjustment on the belt or will I have to use the 883 belt.

The 04s only have a 1 tooth difference in the belt lenght so you should be ok. No promises though.

But why would you want to go to the 883 pulley? It will raise your highway rpms.

I'm kinda lookin for a little more low end, and since I dont ride this bike on the freeway, I thought the pulley would be good for around town.

I have an 02, and went from 29 to 27. Weired vibration at 70 mph, but she'll lift the front wheel in 3rd now. I didn't have to change belts, plenty of adjustment. :clap

you won't have any problems. I just went to a Dyna 70 tooth rear sprocket (stock is 68) without problems, except that the pulley hub had to be turned down a little to line it up. I have an 883 sprocket that is going on the front for a combined change of three teeth. I am looking for quicker 1/4 mile time and even one tooth will make a difference.
