I found some awsome glasses on line. Scratch resistant Lexan lenses and two pair were less than $10.00. Got one pair of Ice Orange and one pair of indoor/outdoor clear. Fit is great and good quality. Were at my door in three days.

I got a pair of amber riding glasses from www.thebestmcglasses.com
Inexpensive, and very well made, ANSI rated and UV protection. I'm going to buy the smoked and clear ones as well. The amber lenses really brighten up the road on dreary, cloudy days.
I would actually rather swap glasses than fumble with changing lenses.

Has anyone tried the WileyX glasses? They can be used for perscription lenses and I am thinking of trying them.

I got a pair of Wiley-X SGI (http://www.wileyx.com/sg1.php) prescription glasses a couple months ago. I haven't worn them riding yet, any day now and I'll know if the pads on them really help with the teary eyes from the wind.

Most optical labs can only do up to about 2.50 diopter in the prescriptions. I need coke bottle lenses (5.00 and 5.25). The Wiley-X factory had one lab that they recommend for these higher prescriptions. You can find them here (http://www.heavyglare.com/) if you need heavier prescriptions.

I bought a pair of Panoptix from my dealership about a year ago. Had some money to burn at the time so I got the Transition lenses. They are clear at night but in the day time the sun automaticly darkens the lenses. Bad part, OK, are you ready! $250!!!

OK don't scoff just yet. The price tag is more for the warentee than it is for the goggles. I have had mine replaced three times in the past year an a half due to dropin them. Wearing out the fome outer edge, and a big rock that would have taken my right eye out.

All those rplacements, and more for the rest of my life cost - - - FREE BABY!!!

If you ask me now, I will tell you I think they were worth more than what I paid for em'

I have them. They are great! I did not get the prescription because I wear contacts. I usually use the goggle strap. I have no problem with watery eyes.

Could it be you bought these: http://www.davida.co.uk/aviator/images/avigog5.gif

They are "The Aviator Goggle by Leon Jeantet (http://www.davida.co.uk/aviator/index.html)", I have them, and they are great. Come with clear, dark and yellow lenses.

For 'puttin' around $6.99 pair of KD's from dealer, for freeway, set of goggles w/ clear, dark, and amber lenses, off brand but very good at $30.00ish. Used to buy nice shades but break/lose.... them KD's can't be beat, lots of different lenses to choose from. Just try them on because they all fit a little different. Dealers keep them hidden away, like to sell the more expensive stuff, you normally have to ask for them.

Picked up a "used once" pair of Panoptix, w/case, off e-bay for $36.00. I had tried a set of Renegades and a pair of those "bestmcglasses" but they still allowed sand and grit to get in my eyes. The foam padding of the Panoptix puts a stop to that.

I also have a pair of Wiley-X SGI glasses/goggles.
The thing I like about them is that the frames
expand easy for a larger head, like my FAT one!
They are comfortable from day one.

The foam does help with tearing eyes
but it still happens.

By the way the $30 Bobster goggles are pretty much the
same but a little tighter on the old noggin.

yeah, I wound up getting all 3 pairs they (actually he) offer, amber, clear and smoke. I seem to keep reaching for the amber ones every time I go riding, but that's mostly in the evenings. In the day time, I'll probably use the smoke ones, but haven't ridden in daytime sun yet... :p

I have two pair of wiley X glasses. One is the SG-1 goggles. We were actually issued them in Iraq, and they let us keep them. Unfortunatly they are know sand blasted, so I will have to buy new lenses for them. They are however an outstanding piece of gear. While overseas I purchased a second pair of wiley's. I got the xl-1 i believe it is. These look more like sun glasses, still come with a band if you prefer, and still have the foam. They offer the same protection, but I notice they let a bit of wind in. Definatly not enough to make your eyes water though. for looks I prefer these over the SG-1. Unforotunatly with these, you can not buy perscription lenses once you already have the frames. (you can however interchange tinted and clear lenses if they are not prescription) The prescription lenses are glued into them. The SG-1 s you can remove the prescription lenses. My point, if you want the XL 1 and you need a presciption, get the prescription right off the bat. If you go for the SG 1 you can get the prescription later.

That's me too. Don't be fooled by the design, they work very good. And hold up very well.

I was issued these as well, and I hated them. I have very deep set eyes, and the goggles fogged as soon as I put them on! They definitely kept the sand out, which was a blessing, but scratched so badly, that if they weren't fogged I couldn't see out of them anyway. I never wore them for riding. I have a pair of Oakleys now, which let a lot of wind in, and whenever a bug hits the glasses, I thank God that it wasn't a rock!!!

The Wiley X goggles are great for keeping the wind out of your eyes while riding.

My Wiley-X goggles will fog up on the inside when it's cold and I'm not moving, or when its raining. When it's just cold, then as soon as I start moving they clear up fine. Just not the best thing to do, trying to get into traffic when your goggles are fogged.

I just bought some anti-fog glass cleaner from my local Arctic Cat snowmobile dealer. This stuff works great. The moco should take a look at branding it also, but then it would probably be $9.95 for a bottle rather than $4.95 :D http://www.andersonmotosports.com/arcticcat/detailcat.pg?item_num=@1883

I purchase my riding glasses and everyday sun glasses from Cycle Shades (http://www.cycleshades.com) located in Deansboro, NY. You can find them at many of the large bike rally's. One of my favorates is their clear mirrored lens for night time riding.
