I installed one of the temp gauge oil caps, and was curious about it’s accuracy.
I decided to check it. I have a digital meter with two different temp probes. (One is a probe type, and one is a flexible thermocouple).
I waited until the gauge cooled to 110* right on the line. I stuck the probe in the oil tank and got a reading of 110.5*
It seems like my gauge is pretty accurate at that temperature.
I'm going to check it again when is about 200* and see how works.
Has anybody checked there oil temp with a digital probe and got different results?

I used a pan of boiling water and mine indicated just about 212 degrees. It was close enough for me.

I took the digital thermometer that we use on the kids and held it in my hands. I did the same thing with the oil temp guage and they were within one degree of each other.
