I mounted a small bullet signal to each side of my headlight brow. You have to drill holes in the brow but if you use the lights that have the wiring coming thru the mounting stud all wiring is hidden.Nice clean installation.

Do you want them back to the stock location under the signal switches or mounted to the bar?

the stock location on my bike witch is an 03 883c was on the lower triple. i would love to put them under the signal switches but i dont think theres a hole for them so ill just go for the bar mount!?

The mounts are there on the switches if they are stock, take it by a dealer and show the parts guy. I am sure they can hook ya up and the parts shouldnt be too costly just for the swivel bar and a hex screw if those are missing.

Go to a sport bike or off road bike shop. There are all sorts of very small lights available that you can adapt any way you want.

I was looking in your gallery, maybe you can relocate to the top triple clamp first. I run mine there and it flows better visually (IMO.) You'll have to pull a few inches of wiring back into the headlamp/rat's nest but it's pretty painless.

I'd hate to burst your bubble, the picture you loaded is from a 2006 XL(rubbermount EVO). The handlebar controls were changed in 2004, so the picture does not apply to your 2003 XL, a solidmount EVO.

You can still relocate your turnsignals to the handlebars, but you will need to get the turn signal swivel kit, which is held by the rearview mirror mount nut.
I don't know the original part # but the chromed one is 68185-00.

I can't help but think that the turnsignals were originally mounted to the handlebars, not the forks, so perhaps someone else had already done that previously.

As for smaller lights, are you talking about these?

It may just be the C came that way or could be it was assembled later in the year useing some 04 parts up there. Also go to J&P Cycles and get a catalog, they're free and can give you some ideas on parts.

You could move them to the top triple tree and use this kit (http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=2020-0347) to move them in.

Here's my '91 with that kit installed (with smaller, Deuce-style signals). It's not the best pic, but it gives you an idea.

I truncated those to the applicable sections.

Somewhere in the dark portions of my mind I remember (I don't know if this is state or federal) the minimum distance between turn signals is 16 inches...16 inches center to center...I think

This is all I've seen for CA:

24951.
(c) Turn signal lamps on vehicles manufactured on or after January 1, 1969, shall be mounted not lower than 15 inches.

Of course, I'm not an expert.
