I need some help from you guy's that have chopped your Sporties and put drag bars on....How or where did you relocate the Speedo. I don't want a tank dash, But I havent seen anyone with Drag bars and a Speedo attached....Any suggestions?

I bought a mini electronic speedo from Drag Specalties, and clamped it to the left side fork tube, between the triple trees. I've alos seen people bolt it to one of the headlight visor mounts, which also looks cool. Godd luck,
Eric

Speedo? You don't need no stinkin' speedo! :tour
"No officer, I do not know how fast I was going"! lol

Unless ofcourse your state requires it :(

I have also seen bicycle speedo's put on choppers and hear tell they are pretty accurate.

go out and get one of those speedo rearview mirror things. It shows your speed and rpms in the mirror. That is what i would do!

Check out Cycle Opt risers also. They are handle bar risers that have a digital display for your tach and speedo.

I didn't install drag bars, but I did relocate the gauges. This was the most inexpensive way that I could figure out how to do it and it looks great but it only applies if you've got the headlight eyebrow piece. Clicky here. This is where mine is...originally, it had drag bars....I never touched the speedo when I changed out the bars.....

You didn't say what year your bike was. Here's a 01 with

a T-Bar with a Dakota Digital gauge mounted under the

bars for a nice clean look.:yikes

My Sporty has a relocated speedo ... and at this position you can read the speed without moving the head too much! ;)

MissyD, where did you find a riser clamp that has the idiot lights centered like that? I hate those damn things, but the neutral switch is necessary. I have an 04 XLC and I don't like where the gauge is, so I am going with the traditional mount much like the others did. Has anyone found a rocker box bracket that will fit a stock speedo for less than a million bucks? Wimmer will custom make one, but I am sure it will cost a fortune. I never even look at the thing.

Looks great Mike, I like it alot! They don't hit the tank huh?Nah. That is a kit you can buy for the Customs. I am not sure about how they would work with the 04's-05's but they will definitely work with the '03 and earlier.

Here is a chrome heads-up tach/speedo set-up. It isn't supposed to work for the Custom and I am sure that is because of the indicator light strip but I am sure this thing could be coaxed.

I'm using a mini-speedo mounted on a bracket with idiot LEDs for oil pressure and charge. It's mounted in the left side gap between the seat and gas tank. I'm driving it off the right side rear wheel.
