How do I check whether my generator is charging/working - without battery/regulator?

This regulator (see below) - which model is it - and how should it be wired? I'm pretty sure that the PO - didn't wire it the right way - based what he have done elsewhere...

Looks like a Bosch unit.

FSM 65 CH

B+ Lighting
61 Capacitor
DF Generator field
D+ Generator armature
D- Ground

P.S. YOU NEED A FACTORY MANUAL. You can get them quite inexpensively via download.

Read thru the Charging System Checkout Sticky. There are procedures near the end for bench testing a gen.

The 61 terminal is used for a cap if you are not running with a battery otherwise nothing wires to it.
