Just the stand itself? I'm sure if you take a good hard look at it, you could figure it out...

Check your manual again, because the manual
for my 04 has the removal procedure listed under
Chassis Section > Jiffy Stand.
Anyway it doesn't look like a big deal. Remove Cotter pin
and Clevis pin.

A trick I read somewhere is, with the jiffy stand extended, to add some coins into the spring coils first then return the jiffy stand to the "up" position. The inserted coins will keep the spring length longer thus making removal from the jiffy stand & retaining pin a lot easier. Saves you from having to use pliers to stretch spring out for removal/insertion.
Worked like a charm for me when I re-n-re'd the jiffy stand for chrome'ing.
Cheers. Dogstar.

thanks for the help.
1 tip: get a cotter pin from the dealer. the ones they use shouldn't be re-used.
also had to replace spring. it's heaps better now with the hugger stand, leans over properly.

now i have my wooden struts on, awaiting the 11" shocks. The 12" Ikon shocks have been removed to sell.

brett7777,
Why you changing shocks? I thought I read somewhere you really liked 'em. Which model did you have?

yeah they were the best shocks u can get (imo) (and the opinion of many others esp down here in Aust and NZ)
but ikon dont make 'covered shocks' and that's what i wanted after i put on the sprung seat
i got cheap 11" ultima old bt style shocks (73-86) (for looks) and sold the ikons 2nd hand for more than the new ultimas
later i will get some more expensive covered 11" shocks, as the old bt style ones are like a rigid, almost
good for around town but when i went 2day for a ride in the countryside for an hour and a half it was a bit rough
any suggestions for high quality 11" covered shocks?
